# Woodlands Worthy Life

The Worthy Life Award is an official award of Trail Life USA, which is designed to encourage and recognize involvement in a number of faith-focused activities. This award is available to all age levels--this page focuses on the awards for K-5 Woodlands Trail members.

The Award is designed to encourage growth through activities in four areas:

1. Devotional
2. Discipleship
3. Disciplines
4. Demonstration

## Worthy Life Booklet

We distribute a booklet with information and tracking sheets to Woodlands parents. ## Devotional

We provide a weekly devotional in our patrol meetings. These devotionals on are being [indexed on this site](https://worthylife.traillife613.org/woodlands-trail-devotionals/master-index). Our devotionals are tied in with the topics in the Woodlands Trail curriculum. These devotionals are 15 minutes of our 75 minute meetings. Award requirements are met by attending 8 Fox sessions, 16 Hawk sessions, or 20 Mountain Lion sessions.

## Discipleship

These activities vary by level. Trailmen and their families select from a list of activities to complete:

| Read a story or watch a video about a person in the Bible | Read a story or watch a video about church leader or missionary |  |

|  |  | Participate in weekend mission trip or Christian retreat |
| Do a craft related to devotional activity | Do a craft related to devotional activity |  |

## Disciplines Activities

Our Disciplines Activities encourage the trailmen to develop important habits, and involve working with parents in the following areas:

### Scripture Memory

Memorize and recite three scripture verses introduced in the devotional time

### Prayer

1. Fox: Lead a prayer with a family meal and at a Trail Life event
2. Hawk/Mountain Lion: Maintain a prayer list; for Mountain Lion, also track answer to prayers and invite another person to pray with you

### Church

Attend church (or sunday school) for a. three months (Mountain Lion) b. two months (Hawk) c. a special service (e.g. Christmas or Easter) (Fox)

## Demonstration

1. Recite the memory passages to Trail Guide
2. Participate in a final conference with leader
